Kimberley Hyson
Ms. Hyson is a partner with Jones Lovelock, where she focuses on complex business litigation including breach of contract, shareholder and partnership disputes, and derivative claims. Ms. Hyson also has significant experience in insurance defense, medical and dental malpractice defense and related board matters, and insurance bad faith defense. Ms. Hyson represents clients through all stages of litigation, and in all Nevada forums including Small Claims, Justice Court, District Court, Federal Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Hyson has served as first chair in trials, private and court-mandated arbitrations, and mediations. She has also been admitted pro hac vice in several other jurisdictions. She has successfully represented clients in breach of contract claims in trial, as well as obtained positive results on dispositive motions on a variety of claims, including wrongful death, medical malpractice, insurance bad faith, and business litigation.
Ms. Hyson attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where she graduated, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology. She later received her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University, cum laude. While in law school, Ms. Hyson served as the Literary Citations Editor for the Pepperdine Law Review and the chair of the interschool Moot Court Program. She also represented Pepperdine at the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Competition in Hong Kong, winning a distinguished speaker award.
Outside of the firm, Ms. Hyson is very involved in the local community, volunteering with various Nevada non-profit organizations. Ms. Hyson is a member of the Nevada State Bar Mock Trial Committee, and an Associate Board Member of the Nevada Chapter of the Anti-Defamation League. She previously served as a Nevada high school mock trial program coach and participated in Trial by Peers, a Nevada youth diversion program. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.
